Privacy Policy

Michigan Online will abide by the student privacy guidelines set forth by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The following persons have access to student records:

  • Michigan Online School Board Members
  • MOS administrative team and professional staff of the school (e.g., Instructors, Guidance Counselors, the General Counsel, etc.)
  • Other appropriate support staff and professionals who have a legitimate educational or legal interest in student records as defined by the Michigan Department of Education

In accordance with Michigan Department of Education policy, Michigan Online School will provide an academic transcript upon request of another school and/or the student's legal guardian.

In accordance with state and federal privacy laws, students aged 18 or older may transfer certain rights related to their academic records.

No member of the Michigan Online School staff is authorized to release student information without the written permission of the student's legal guardian or approval of the MOS Director.

Names, images, and/or course work of students will not be published in print, video/film, or on our website without written student and parent/guardian consent.

Security Information

All MOS students are provided a unique password to access online courses. It is the student's responsibility to keep his/her password in confidence.

All student data provided to Michigan Online School is protected to ensure both the privacy and security of that data. MOS uses state-of-the art technology to keep personal information secure. Statistical Information & Internet Cookies

Michigan Online School uses web statistics tracking technology to track visitors to our site. This data does not include any personally identifying information.
